Research

Our work revolves around three core domains:

  1. Peptidergic Hormones in Brain Function: We’re dedicated to unraveling the molecular mechanisms behind synaptic regulation by peptidergic hormones within the brain. Our focus extends to both health and disease, with a particular emphasis on conditions like obesity and type 2 diabetes.
  2. Mechanisms Underlying Neuropsychiatric Disorders: Utilizing human neurons and cortical organoids derived from pluripotent stem cells, we investigate synaptic pathophysiology and the molecular underpinnings of neuropsychiatric and neurodevelopmental disorders.
  3. Cutting-Edge Technologies: We are committed to pushing the boundaries of knowledge by developing innovative technologies that enhance our understanding of brain function and structure.

At the heart of our scientific mission is the quest to decipher the molecular and cellular mechanisms that underlie neuromodulation in various states of health and disease. We employ both mouse and human neurons as model systems to drive our research forward. Join us on this exciting journey into the complexities of the brain’s synaptic network as we strive to advance our understanding of neuromodulation!
